Posted by chuchubob on Thu Jul 5 22:48:22 2012 Amtrak had a display train at the North Carolina Transportation Museum on Tuesday and Wednesday during the Norfolk Southern 30th anniversary Heritage Locomotive celebration at the former Southern Railway complex at Spencer. Amtrak called it the Heritage Equipment Display, but the Viewliner sleeper and prototype Viewliner diner aren't heritage equipment.Cab/HEP (former F40)   Heritage livery P42DC   built for Great Northern by Budd  prototype Viewliner diner

I didn't know it was possible to go inside... the event handout and map labeled it as "Amtrak Train (external exhibit only)" which I took to mean the train was viewable only from the outside. |
