Hi all. This R train stopped at Astoria Blvd yesterday, 07-01, discharged its passengers, and announced last stop.

Anyone know why he came up the Astoria?

Thanks,

your pal,
Fred

Nostalgia for the old days? :)

I'm guessing some problem on Queens Blvd.

There was mechanical problems at Roosevelt Av, which delayed the E,F,R trains for more than 2 hours. Remember this past weekends GO had E & f running local from Roosevelt - 21 ST Queensbrdge/Queens Plz. There was a switch track problem at Roosevelt. And E & F service was out east of Roosevelt, as a result sending the R train to Astoria

Has happened!!! But if I recall right in that instance, the train discharged at Queensboro Plaza, but was run light to G3/4 track middle at 39th-Beebe Avenue and was readied to turn back south there.

ANYONE can make that mistake, good buddy!! It happens to the best people. We are only human. I never thought my buddy would get himself in that trouble on the Harlem Line with the distracted operation, especially considering the many times I worked with him, he is very diligent from my experiences. Again, it can happen to ANYONE, ANYTIME!!!

Guessing a rare GO! Nice shot, and the R back to its old home line before 1987's North Terminal Swap!

Correctomundo, there were sick passengers and there was a switch problem in the 11th street cut. So to send the R up there was def a possibility.

Which also blows up the M.

M train Service reliability used to be a lot better before the M/V consolidation.
