I think Jamaica yard is short R46's since they sent some over to the C line. So R160's have been popping up on the R for the last few weeks. 1 maybe 2 trains at the most. I know this number could be more from time to time. |

Your right LRG5784 that's what they will do first, extend the head way. An 8 car R160's will never go on the R. Now what would the do for the missing M train, you can't take an R46 off the R and put it on the M. When the V and R were at CTL train swiping all ways happened. Go down to the relay as a R come up as a V, and vis vera. |

I would think that if there happened to be an excess 8 car R-160 M in the middle of the day or evening, it would be used to make the interval rather than drop one as long as it could get back to Ctl in time for rush hour service. |

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. I think they started this when the "G" was transferred from Jamaica to Coney Island. As a replacement for the R68/68As had to supply the "G" with, Jamaica sent over some R160s for the "N" and "Q" trains. |

Except for a couple of short turns on the late PM, I think most of the Whitehall short turns are in the rush hours when spare trains would be unavailable and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to run a short R train in the rush anyhow. |
