SO IF THAT "IT" for phase one..what of the easier portion of the build, which SHOULD have been included in the "phase one" construction? The 106th st station should have been the easiest of the builds! shallow..very close to the surface.. 116th st would be difficult..as it would be a fill in station. 125TH would be the most expensive. this whole section should be reworked into the originally planned route, with service as far as the 149th st HUB. THE DOWNTOWN SECTION of Phase 4 should have been built from Grand st to the Nassau cut..with a connection to both the Chrystie st and the Montague Tunnel. Phase 3 can, with the exception of the 55th and 42 st stations,be placed on hold until later. |

Also, I agree that with the Nassau St tunnels so underused, the much of the downtown part is already in place as well... |

No. The Nassau St subway is too far from the East River. The Water Street Alignment is a much better choice. The Nassau St line doesn't need more service. |

They're a matter of blocks away from each other...AND Nassua Street would only require upgrade, while Water St obviously would need full construction.. |

Nassau Street would be more trouble than what it's worth to upgrade. The Water Street alignment is better because it gives service to the east side of the Financial District. Besides, it's a bit of a walk to from the Nassau Street line to the East River. |

Whenever I've had to travel to the Seaport area, I usually take the F train to 2nd Avenue, then catch the M15SBS bus. After the SBS goes to bed for the night, I have to start my trip home by schlepping uphill to William Street to catch the nearest subway.A subway under Water Street would be much more convenient to get to the area. Further, connecting the Water Street subway to the Montague Street tunnel would provide an additional option for South Brooklyn trains to access 6th Avenue. Without it, they're forced to either use the bridge, or reverse at Essex (not an option for 75' cars). |

That IS what I was referring to by saying,"Nassau st cut"...connecting the phase 4 route to the Montague st tunnel via the cut..and of course the Water st route..from the Grand st junction,as laid out in the 1949 SAS proposal. This would add new services to an area that developed along with the promise of the route..where businesses/and residents would benefit..and a new through service from the 6th avenue line to lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. the phase 3 section between 34th and Houston could be placed on hold until a proper redesign could be made with some service to the LES.. |

I doubt it will be completed in a day, regardless of what does or doesn't come out of the MTA's esophageal sphincter. |

Nassau Street would require construction that would be expensive to avoid disrupting J service and SAS capacity would be limited by the existing J service. |

It's funny to watch the poor wannabe act like that in society. He needs all the help he can get. |
