Q train to East Side - 96 St |
|
Posted by B49 Limited on Tue May 15 03:06:39 2012 While waiting for the Q train to leave from Queensbridge, an arriving Q train had an unsual destination signQ| Brigton Lcl Q| Broadway Exp Q| East Side - 96 St I was so shock that I took a picture of that sign (Don't know how to post it here on the site) but I am surprise it is already in the system. Im now curious to know if the FIND had all the stations to 96 St. I am also assuming the person program to use it tonight had the right intentions to have all the transfers to Lex - 63 St, (unfortunatly the FIND was empty with the please await announcment posted). For a 2av line teaser, I thought it was cool to see... |

I would love to hear that announcement but disappointing, I thaught maybe a 2 Av reference would be programing.. I mean you don't need to mention Brighton Local that line could be used to say 2 Av Local. I once seen a Q train had Broadway Exp, Astoria Local once. |

I found the file, but I'm too lazy to upload it someplace."This is a 96 Street/Second Avenue-bound (Q) train via the Second Avenue Line. The next and last stop is 96 Street." |

She's been joking it would never be built since I was little. In fact, the SAS became a metaphor for things she thought would never happen. |

From a previous message: "No, there has to be a subway under 2nd Ave somewhere for me to win."Well, technically there IS a subway UNDER Second Avenue, and it has been there since the 1930's, and new subway tunnels UNDER Second Avenue have been built since the 1970's. Since the word, "somewhere" was used, that opens up the field of discussion. Mike |

Denver's LRVs are all programmed with J line signs and annunciators, except there's no J line at the moment. OTOH if they ever wanted to implement a Nine Mile-Union Station service pattern..... |

If anyone's interested here's the Q announcement to 72st via 2nd ave . The 96st bound sounds identical:http://youtu.be/ZNfGyjEaCW0?t=16m19s If the video doesn't jump to the announcement right away, then jump to 16:19. |
