PHTOS: Farewell to Silverliner II and III charter

Posted by chuchubob on Mon May 7 07:25:23 2012

All SEPTA Silverliner II's and III's will be retired by the end of May; only eleven were active as of Sunday. The Philadelphia Chapter, NRHS, organized a farewell charter on Sunday. The consist was 1963 Reading Budd SL II 9001, 1967 Saint Louis Car SL III 235, and PRR Budd 266. It was a good trip and ran according to the schedule provided on the train. The elderly cars performed well.

The Reading SL-II does not seem to have a pilot

It doesn't need one because it has a cowcatcher.
