PHOTOS: BERA Members Day 2012

I had an excellent time at my first attendance of BERA member's day. It was quite an action-packed day. I even got to operate 1602!

Brooklyn PCC 1001 navigating the switches

I found the trucks of PCC 1001, notably the track brakes, very interesting.

6102 (foreground) will soon follow car 775 to the temporary end of the line, followed by plow 3152, forming a 3 car lineup.

3152 rounds the curve to pull up behind us.

A photo of 6102, taken right after yours truly operated it back from the temporary end of the line. I got congratulated for stopping 6102 smoothly and right on the mark. I figured releasing the brakes to minimum pressure below 3 MPH would do something like that for me.

As the day winds down, 775 rests for a while before running to Sprague.

Exactly where is the temporary end of line? I'm not familiar with the technical names, though I did guest op it once so I have pretty good idea of the layout.

Just past the Stony Creek trestle ... which is about to change very shortly when trap rock is laid between there & Short Beach.
