Yes, despite being bored with nearly everything around here, every so often, I try and get out of the house and do a little bit of local railfanning. In this case, it happened to be Metro-North, and I think I'm content with the results. It's certainly not as nice as the recent stuff from the Pacific Northwest, but one has far more freedom to film in the street than on a constrained area like a high level platform with less than ideal lighting. And for those who are wondering, I really didn't get a chance to ride the M-8, so I can't point out how it's better than the M-7 and worse than the ET 425s. :-)
Admittedly, the bonus of the trip was overhearing one commuter explain to another commuter than my filming wasn't nefarious, but merely some attempt to capture the M-8 in low light.
