Phoenix SkyTrain

Posted by trains61 on Sun Apr 1 14:01:47 2012

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport has taken delivery of 8 cars for the SkyTrain. They can be seen at the east end of the airport, between 44th St. and Washington and the entrance to the airport. They are sitting on the incline leading to the East long term parking building.

Sorry no pics. Don`t have a digital camera and me and technology aren`t getting along very well lately.

Must say that I don't like how they "borrowed" the name from Laker Airways . . .

Well, after all, Laker presumably borrowed the name from the USAAC's designation for the C-47 (the military version of the DC-3).

The British usually knew that as the Dakota, though (RAF designation).

Well, I don't expect you to have a memory. As for the people with brains, if they're too young to remember, they're smart enough to look it up if they're curious. Ignorance is not bliss; if it were, the internet would have no web pages.
