MTA crews grilled on Occupy Wall Street

Posted by Gold_12TH on Fri Mar 30 14:43:52 2012

A day after Occupy Wall Street activists chained open subway entrance doors to 20 stations, the MTA and the NYPD grilled transit workers to see if they were involved in the stunt.

A clerk and a cleaner at the Beverly Road station in Brooklyn — one of the spots of the citywide protest — were questioned by MTA brass for two hours, sources said.

Cops also went to the home of a third transit worker, looking for information.

It’s unclear if any of those workers were involved, but a transit source said they didn’t appear to have been.

Occupy Wall Street took credit on its Web site for opening the entrances, saying it had help from “rank-and-file” MTA employees.

The activists said they were protesting MTA policies, including fare hikes and “racial” policing.

No, but I'll bet a SWAT team hit the toll booths at the Lincoln tunnel. :)

They should be questioned - - how can a S/A not miss these idiot OWS protestors unlock the emergency exit gate - - put signs up and leave it there for everyone to illegally walk in for free?

The turnstiles at Beverley Road are like 6-7 feet away from the booth.

Where's the TWU on this? I don't know about the situation and station, but if there's only a casual link between someone and the station, they're going to visit your home over what some flyer from some group of losers say?

TWU 100 supports OWS action.
There were several members at Zucotti park.

It is natural that some workers help rocking out station because they are part of OWS family.

And I think "free-ride" poster may be done by some MTA workers.
(These look the same as regular "service change" postres.)

I do wonder about the TWU's support of OWS. Where do they think the people who ride the subway work?

I don't know what they expected the station agents to do.

When their station was stormed by those radicals, they did what they were supposed to do: call it in. Did NYPD and NYCT think the s/a's invited those guys to their station?
