So we're not getting three doors per side to decrease dwell time, 2 X 2 seating to permit more standees, 3.0 mph/s acceleration to improve schedules, and lightweight aluminum to reduce energy consumption?

You were more entertaining when you were on your "convert PATH to HBLR" kick . . .

We should do that when after we build the New Jersey Transit side of the downtown loop. Once you have direct service to downtown at near rapid transit levels, there isn't much need for PATH anymore, so it makes far more sense to re-allocate PATH's network for inner suburban areas that have no service, and the use of light rail allows us to serve somewhat marginal areas of urban New Jersey that don't have existing rail corridors.

Otherwise, at minimum, PATH should be integrated into NJT's ticketing structure along with buses and light-rail.

I hope the seats of at least 4 seats are back to the width they were on the M1/3s. Maybe a few inches, but it still adds up b/w a comfortable ride and an unbearable one.

I would get rid of the arm rest or have a fold up arm rest like the express buses.

You can sprawl out into the aisle to give yourself a little more room.

That would also be good. I hate how the armrest locks you in with the other person. It's why those soft seat CNG O5 buses are terrible to sit in as the seats are narrower than the NYCT standard suburban seats.

Base order of 76 M-9 cars and up to 600 M-9 option cars.

600 cars, is that right ?

PATH should be FARE integrated w/ the NYC Subway. The fare equity/miles travelled.
As to PATH's usefulness, I will repeat my view that the midtown line should be extended across 9th to a terminal under Tompkins Square Park w/a transfer station to both 8th St BMT and Astor Place IRT.

Or (shudder) have the MTA take over the PATH as a sort of "P" Division.
