Easiest to convert from NS to PC.

Of course the second Government Railroad would be first on the list . . .

But doesn't Conrail (what's left of it in the "Shared Assets" area) still use that blue paint scheme? If so, how can another railroad (even one of Conrail's owners) use it as a "heritage" scheme? Couldn't it easily be confused for the real thing?

Nope. They were gradually being painted over. There is no Conrail in terms of a railroad operator; just NS and CSX.

Conrail (CSAO) doesn't own any locomotives, but they own at least two shoving platforms and a lot of hi-rail equipment.

Doing CR first makes sense. It reduces their CR Blue paint inventory.

They should have painted an SD70ACe for the Conrail unit as the GE look hasn't changed since the Conrail era!!!

CSX's are all re-painted and NS's are almost all re-painted. Still she looks beautiful as a new locomotive....................just imagine what if. And for the complainers that say that those all weren't all NS's old Railroads, Can't you just be happy for them and enjoy it? No people in particular here I'm juuuuust sayin.

NS is a shiny black. PC was dull dirty-looking black. Or maybe, their locos were always dirty and it was shiny underneath.

That's "Old Rivets" the first G off the line. She's the only one with a riveted body. Later units had welded skin.

4876 went into Union Station in 1953; 4859 was the first GG1 to take a passenger train to Harrisburg when the Keystone Line was electrified.

BTW, 4876 was rebuilt after being cut up and removed from Union Station. It powered a charter on Jun 6, 1981, with 4877. The F40 provided HEP only.

That's precisely why I don't like it. Government Freight Railroad, which used to operate passenger trains but then got "ordered" to stop by Congress. Disemboweled so much of the railroad network, making things way easier for trucking.
