Michael Moore wants "trains, everywhere" |
|
Posted by Olog-hai on Wed Mar 14 13:46:54 2012 So saith he via Twitter:I don't even think that the Dems would go for such an executive order. This kinda echoes a nutty narrative he made three years ago: Moore seems to not realize that GM was never in the business of building passenger cars, although they did build diesel locomotives (but not in Detroitin LaGrange IL). And he does not seem to realize that as far as having the "unemployed" build HSR in some kind of twisted jobs program (the funding for which he fails to identify), the construction workers' unions would never, ever stand for something like that. He also got the average speed of most of the Shinkansen trains wrong . . . (so Chicago-Detroit would be 2:06 if you had a train with an average speed of 145 mph) |

That includes Moore. Imagine the ironworkers' and construction workers' unions' clamor over an executive order trying to force them to take on masses of unemployed people to build high-speed rail projects across the land, or to be pushed aside in favor of such people for jobs that they would regard as theirs . . . ? |

Moore is further off to the left than Santorum is to the right. Neither of those fucks should be in politics, let alone have any say in how anyone lives their life. |

The Rock Island used them in hodge podge commuter trains after they were tried on the Peoria Rocket (paraphrasing an RI exec at the time, and the good people of Peoria drove over to ride the Santa Fe) |
