Injured Woman Given TAB Summons For Resting Leg On Seat

Posted by JayZeeBMT on Sat Mar 3 22:55:52 2012

Yes, the rules are in effect at all times and under all circumstances. But I still think this one belongs in the Silly Summonses category.

nope, anyone can claim their injured, cops are not medical experts so excuses go to principal (judge)

If the person was wearing a cast on their leg and the train was empty, that would be a bit absurd to go through all that trouble to put on a cast just to keep the foot up. It "screams" ticket quota, imo.

If those cops are in such a need to fill quotas, they can board the buses to catch farebeaters.

This shit reminds me of Amtrak cops in Chicago last August. They set up a desk and were "randomly" selecting passengers for explosives inspection of their luggage boarding Milwaukee trains. They wouldn't open bags, but had a device that swabbed them. Dogs are MUCH better at this, and CUS had several of them roaming throughout the station that day too.

So they picked single males, like me with 1 or 2 bags. But who did they let thru without batting an eyelash ? A couple of trailer trash creatures wheeling a large luggage cart with 10 bags.

Simple mathematics says your chances of getting what they are looking for from this pair of tramps rather than me is 5 times greater.

They go for what is EASY, not EFFECTIVE - pick men who pack light, AND THEN play with their detection toy, rather than use their available labradors.

who said she wore a cast??, not even any sign of injury.
If she can produce a doctors note, im sure the judge will see it her way.
The cops have to be impatial. they need to see it black or white, breaking law or not breaking law, the excuses are for the judge.

I was saying as an example. But I still see it as nothing more than quota filling. Where are such cops for buses that have farebeaters? It seems they aren't being deployed to areas that really needs enforcement and are picking off 'easy targets'.

That is my point. Do you want to get "even" with a body cavity search, or catch terrorists ?

On subways, they can hunt down muggers or harass a woman in an empty car.

I am not the one with the attitude but a taxpayer, and if this is what we get for our RR and transit police, slash their budget 30 or 40% until they get the message.

They are getting the message, their working and writing tickets, if they were not, some idiot would complaint about his/her tax money just standing around.

The purpose of giving a ticket for using two seats is that you are not depriving so done of a seat. The only purpose to enforcing this rule at 1AM is to gain revenue and nothing else. It does more harm PR wise tan it does good.

I don't like people putting their filhy shoes all over the seats. If she was really injured, she would be on an accessoride van, not a subway train. I don't understand why so many are feeling sorry for her.

Then they will just raise the quotas to make up for it! LOL!
