"Welcome Back Kotter" Opening and Closing Credits [on topic]

Yesterday's death of Robert Hegeys ["Epstein"] brought back a memory of the opening of "Welcome Back Kotter" with the shots of R32s [with the painted white doors , grime and graffitti], and gratuitous shots under the El [What street was that shot on?]. Then the closing credits showing Batwing fishbowl 8854 loading up, as well as street scenes from Brooklyn.

you can almost catch the car numbers on the first train. 3578 and 34- something?

The el structure is that of the West End above 86th St.

The el structure is that of the West End above 86th St.

That theme song comes to mind whenever I think of the BMT. BMT=Brooklyn.

And, of course, it was under the West End on 86 St that the opening sequence (and other scenes, IIRC) of "Saturday Night Fever" were shot. Of course, SNL also starred John Travolta. Interesting.

The location where the subway cars are by the school(New Utrecht high school),is running above New Utrecht Ave. and 79 St.Under the EL is 86 St.
