Posted by chuchubob on Thu Jun 23 09:51:39 2011 Wednesday June 15 after arrival in Washington, before engine change other engines awaiting their southbound trains      P42DC 54 and 63 replaced HHP-8 654 on train 91.   63 had problems, so 54 and 63 were replaced with 91 and 142, photographed during the crew change at Richmond.   My wife and I rode in Viewliner Sleeper 62029, which had been pulled out of the damaged line and rebuilt with Recovery Act money.  crew change at Orlando June 16

I am taking 97 to Deerfield Friday.. I have a Roomette. 91 just takes too long with the route via Raliegh, Hamlet and Columbia ( the "S" line )and the detour to Tampa with the back up move. You get a great view of the train at Auburndale on the sharp left turn toward Winter Haven ( if you are on the left side ). |

You could just call it "intimate" and pass it off as a romantic excursion with your wife. Some flowers and chocolates should smooth over any residual friction. You could also just bring sufficient adult beverages to make the space issue go away. |
