If so, a) Larger or smaller? b) Resizing your JPEG to another JPEG? Remember that resizing pics will not generally make them better, just bigger. Also, converting from JPEG to JPEG means you've permanently lost picture information at least twice. 3) If you're saving it as a JPEG, what quality level are you saving it at? Higher is generally better, esp. if you are keeping the pics for posterity. 4) Is there a setting in the camera for edge sharpness? The fuzziness is so general that it may be more than just a focusing problem, esp. because the overhead wires are virtually disappearing. |

I'm certain that most of the photos that I post here are "sub-par" compared to Paul or Fred or Bob as well as a few others. While I suppose that they are not technically prefect, they are usually fairly well composed and almost always convey the spirit of what people want to discuss here. Now, I am not denigrating Fred or Paul or Bob or anyone else who goes that extra step but as has been pointed out here many many many times, this is a train board, not a photo board and as long as there is at least a modest amount of care taken in the presentation of the photo - none of us should be offering unrequested criticism based on photo quality. I certainly would rather see a photo of an 0-6-0 that is slightly under-exposed and off center, than a perfectly exposed, perfectly centered photo of a young girl, unaware that she is being photographed. Lets just keep in mind why most of us are here. Lets cut the bullshit over who's pictures suck and who's don't. |
