It does not matter what the *are* the MTA is changing all of the uniforms in the next pick.T/Os will have a nice white dinner jacket over black trousers with a cumberbund. They will have white lace gloves. C/Rs will have a florescent pink jumpsuit with goggles, ear protectors and black leather gloves. S/As will have a nice black tuxedo with a bright sky blue vest. Since the vest was made in Bangladesh, the MTA patch was inadvertently applied upside down. TSS will have a heliotrope striped coverall, a bulbous red nose, and large floppy shoes, however all of the shoes are size 24 or larger. Apparently MTA is not yet used to ordering uniforms in metric notations. |

The TA uniforms are pretty much the same, with of course some exceptions!!1). The Train Operators get pinstriped shirts with the MTA logo, in long ans short sleeve shirts, and a more work-type slacks 2). The conductors get a more dressy type of slacks, the light blue shirts or the black turtleneck. 3). The bus operators get shorts for summer wear, whereas conductors, train operators must always wear the longer slacks. However, they do come in certain weight for the seasonal wear. 4). Train Operators are allowed to wear the MTA baseball caps, while the conductors must wear the usual conductor uniform cap or the trooper cap, both with the badge displayed. Bus operators can also wear the MTA baseball caps. |

Don't forget the uniform tie. We can still wear the purple-ish thingy with the freaky looking little buses on them. And for summer, females can wear cullottes(sp?). |

Still nice to see even though the buildings have been gone for nearly 10 years now. |

Those are not official and they could get written up as being out of uniform.Technically, the only stuff you can wear is that which is issued to you by the uniform vendor. |

WHILE IN REVENUE SERVICE you are not allowed to wear anything not issued. While you freeze in the cold, waiting to make a relief, you can wear whatever keeps you tootsies warm! |

Well, I am a former RTO guy who still has his TA ties with little trains on them!! I never saw the one with buses on it. I have maybe 2 that have nothing more than the NYCT logo across it, no trains printed on it. |

Well, with security reasons being the biggest thing, an MTA baseball cap is not easy to come by at all, except if you were an employee. If you luck out and know someone who works in NYCT, you might get lucky and get it, but for the most part, it is not for anyone other than the employees to wear.I really could not tell you where you can obtain one of those otherwise, as they are mainly available to employees only, and I do not know of any place that has carried them outside of TA property, and this does include the Transit Museum. |

Us guys in Surface only have the Eisenhower style jackets as outerwear. Never got the Carharts or any cold weather gear except the neat commando style sweaters, so we have no choice. |
