It is true that I know him personally, and I've always found him to be a decent person when I've spoken with him. That does not mean I condone his behavior on this or any other forum. But I cannot abide by this mob mentality by which a very large number of posters have become convinced they can remove him from the board by responding to each of his posts with four or five of their own. At the very least it's unfair to those of us who would like to completely ignore whatever squabbles they care to engage in. Threads such as this one immediately rise to the top and are virtually impossible to ignore.And my apologies for not taking the time to meet you back last year or whenever when I said I'd try to catch you at a layover. I was taking two classes and working two jobs and found myself with little time to railfan. As it is I haven't bothered to railfan NYC in around a year or two. One of these days I hope to meet you, because you seem like a great guy, it just seems that we frequently come down on opposite sides of these issues. |
