$100 fine for holding doors

yesterday while i was on an A going to Far Rock,the C/R made an annoucment saying that holding train doors is against the law and carries a fine of $100.is this one of the proposed laws the MTA wants
to place in or is it a law?

rather than holding doors
cops issued many summonses for this, years ago

I know, but the irony is that he tried to celebrate it with an official thread and missed by one post, one that he made.

If anyone cares, it took a little more than 2 years to reach 100,000 posts on SubTalk, yet it took around 10 months to reach the same milestone here.

Usually, that would cause the train to go BIE. The door has sometimes come open for no reason, however.

No, it does not cause the train to go BIE. (Does the train go BIE whenever it stops at a station?) It causes the train to lose indication, which in turn causes the train to lose power.

There should be a fine for holding train doors open, and it should be more than $100...

FIRST: Holding the doors damages the door motors and thus constitutes vandalism.

SECOND: Holding the doors for one additional person delays everybody else, and thus imposes a cost on society. The door-holder should be ready and willing to pay that cost.
