Posted by Train Man Paul : Metro-North's Best Conductor FOR ALL 3 LINES!!! on Mon Nov 1 23:13:34 2010 Time for a little ruckus to come to the town of Valley Cottage, NY, CP 26, Saturday afternoon, CSX River Subdivision......All is quiet for the time at CP 26 on the CSX River Subdivision, as "Red-over-Red" means a quiet railroad (albiet on the River Sub never always for long!!).......  Uh oh!!! CSX NI Dispatcher in Albany has lined us up something!!!! NORAC 281 aka "Clear" has gave us the Irish Eye!!! :-)  And without further ado, in a nice sound-off with the K5LAs, CSX Q417-30 comes thru (Selkirk Yard to Pavonia Yard, Camden NJ), in the lead, CW44AC #60, SD40-2 8410 and a rather short mixed manifest........  WHOOSH!!!!  Aiming for the Irish Eye at CP 26.......  Thunderin' manifest scoots on by!!!   And now the quiet begins to return, as Q417-30 heads on her way, slamming across the crossover to the 4 mile siding (CP 26 to CP 22 in Blauvelt), and definitely holdin' down the Main!!  And now the quiet has returned.......albeit temporarily, 'till the next train comes along!!!  Thank you for viewing!! Hope you have enjoyed!! :-) |
