I was surprised to discover that the letter corresponding to p in the Greek alphabet - pi - is pronounced 'pee' by North Americans. Brits have always pronounced it 'pie'I don't know a single American who pronounces it as you describe. The letter π has always been pronounced "pie" in the USA and Canada. |
