Shipping heavy oversize objects is very expensive these days. If you are an occasional eBay shipper you would not believe how much it costs to ship.I made the mistake several times of trusting eBay to calculate shipping rates and after factoring in the cost of packaging material, shipping, my time in taking the item to the post office and waiting on line, eBay and PayPal fees I ended up with NEGATIVE income. The item cost me more to sell than I received for it. One of the reasons I stopped selling low priced items on eBay is because eBay discourages sellers from charging what it really costs to ship an item I don't blame those who factor in all of their costs |
