I know someone asked then Pres Prendergast about converting some P-72's to bike cars to the east end. Response was the braking systems were too incompatible.LIRR also considered leasing a set of ex-Metroliner Amfleet cars as a Parlor car train when they were mothballed after the Acelas came on line. They were tested with a Super Steel, and they did not behave well together. |
