Time is fast approaching for the end of Manual Block System (MBS) on the MNR Danbury Branch, as signalization of the branch commences on September 13th, which will introduce CTC/CSS (Centralized Traffic Control/Cab Signal System) to the Danbury Branch. We catch some shots on the branch at Branchville, CT this past Sunday afternoon, as the time of MBS winds down!!

When in doubt, and the MNR C&S personnel (Communications & Signals Department) have no other means of getting around, I guess these are left in reserve behind the relay box.......

Block Limit (BL) "HILL", soon to be a thing of the past, along with (not shown) BL BERK (north of CP 241), BL GLOVE (Merritt 7), BL WILT (Wilton), BL DAN (South of Danbury Station) and BL CANAL (North of Danbury Station)!!

BL "HILL" and an old catenary support tower, looking a lot like it is on it's last leg!!

Closer views of the Branchville Siding South Switch (possibly where a CP 412 would be, as the New Canaan Branch uses the 300-numbers for CP identification, and Waterbury uses the 500-numbers for CP identification, with the north switch of the Branchville Siding being possibly CP 413, unless the siding remains a manual, hand thrown switch at each end. We'll see what this ultimately ends up being!!), for the time being a manual, hand thrown switch (with switch lock).......

And with a ringing of the bells, the flashing of the lights, you all know I wasn't letting this visit go without a train appearing here, did you??? Well, without further ado, MNR Train #6846, South Norwalk to Danbury, BL20GH #130 north end, Shoreliner Cab #6304 south end......

Now arriving!!

Gettin' the passengers off safely in the station........

All aboard, and #6846 is on the move north.......

Blastin' on thru Depot Road, with #130 singin' her sweet tune for all to hear 'cross the Land!!!.......

And the quiet returns to Branchville.....for now!!!

Thank you all for viewing!! Hope you all enjoyed!! Next time I bring you action here, there will be "Flashie-greens" and no more paperwork (Form Ms) as Manual Block System (MBS) will be a thing of the past, and the good ol' boys down at the OCC (Operations Control Center) in GCT, and MNR RTC (Rail Traffic Controller) District F, will have this ol' branch totally under their direct control!!

Enjoy!! :-)
