Yes I meant that there will be no new 75' cars ordered, but I see now I wasn't quite right on my predictions on the future :)It seems that TA is going for a universal design for the 'B' division based on the R-143/160 cars. Cars of one length, using same or similar parts, no real deviation as in past car designs. So they can transfer equipment anywhere making adjustments in lengths of 4 or 5 cars per set. Yes, the NYC subway of the future will be boring and NO RFW's ! : ( Bill Newkirk |
