No. I made the claim based on the R143/R160/R179s being 60'. But the R-143/160 replaced 60 foot cars. So why would they be part of this discussion about if 60 foot cars would replace existing 75 foot cars? Also, based on discussions here about NYCT trying to get away from 75' Those discussions were just railfans talking. No one claimed to actually be reporting what NYCT was actually thinking at the time. I did not say it as a fact Nor did I say that you said it was a fact. It was very clearly just your opinion. Hence why I asked why it was you felt so strongly as to label your opinion as "most likely". Personally I wouldn't say "most likely 60 feet". If the decision was being made today, I think it would be slightly more likely that the R-68/A replacements would be 60'. But since it's not being made today, there are so many variables involved and it's SO far in the future that I don't think anyone, even at NYCT, could made any kind of a prediction that they felt so confident about that they could call it "most likely". Just my opinion. |
