Israelis in general resent "outsiders" who try to tell the country what to do - unless those outsiders are backing the viewpoint that the specific Israeli in question supports. I do have to say, though, that there is generally something of a condecending attitude toward "armchair Zionists", particularly Americans, who are viewed as being simpleminded when it comes to the realities of the Middle East.And yes, I do live in Israel (been here since 2001 - I came at the hight of the Intefada), though I frequently travel to the US on business. subfan |
