With rail ridership down seemingly everywhere Los Angeles just set an all time record (I'm pretty sure...nothing on the LACMTA website). We did have a lightly used light rail line extension open in the last year and both the blue and red lines (our busiest) nearly had all time records. The green line was up there (top 6) as well. A big part of the blue line increase was that it had a rare month without any significant service disruptions due to construction/repairs/maintenance. Also the Lakers parade brought record crowds. Probably a single day record for the system especially the blue and red lines.The Source |
