Money is already being spent on TOD's adjacent and near Expo. Other than downtown Long Beach and downtown LA, more money will have been spent on TOD's for Expo before it opens than there has been for the entire 20 year history of the blue line (20th anniversary on July 14). In addition to what's mentioned in the article there's a hotel in Culver City and a Target/grocery store shopping center next to the Crenshaw station in LA.

Exposition is currently a sleepy little road, but it won't be in just a few years at this rate. This is really showing a pent up demand for train service to LA's westside job and population centers. So far lines are primarily in poorer areas of the city. The second phase of Expo will be the first line to go to what many consider to be the "real" LA - the Westside.
