Even if it is gramatically correct, no one calls it that. Calling it "the WMATA" just reduces Forest Glen's practically nonexistent credibility on all matters WMATA even further.Using "the WMATA" is less annoying to me (primarily because Forest Glen is the only one that does so) then the use of an in front of historic. The practice of using an in this grammatical context is something that is resent. 20 years ago one would have never read or heard it used in that context.
