Another pseudo-secret is the platform underneath the Waldorf-Astoria. This one has been the subject of a few TV shows as well, but there never was anything secret about it, just forgotten. It was well known to railfans in the 60's. I visted it back in the 1980's. There was a sign on the elevator for Pacific Fruit Express.
