There is a significant commuter market for Staten Island-Jersey City/Hoboken. Just go to 34th in Bayonne or Liberty State Park stations, and count the NY plates in the lot. Not to mention the S89 busYou're misjudging the market. Those people could indeed be traveling to Manhattan via PATH. There is no major attraction in Perth Amboy that would drive pedestrian traffic between Staten Island and Perth Amboy A Perth Amboy-Tottenville ferry isn't intended for pedestrian traffic in that market. That's like claiming that the NY Waterway between Hoboken and Manhattan is for the pedestrian market. |
