Trunks do equal lines. You are defining routes. You could run a train from Jamaica to 205th in the Bronx continuously without changing ends, but that's a route, not a line. The route uses multiple trunks.

For the record, Queens Blvd to 6th Ave to Coney Island via Culver, Sea Beach, West End or Brighton; return via any of those four which were not used to get to CI, via Bridge to Manhattan, to the 8th Ave line at West 4th, then the Concourse line.
