HIGH SPEED RAIL had NOTHING to do with AMTKOnly because that wasn't its mandate. Would you prefer Deutsche Bahn expand to the USA like they're expanding all over Europe and parts of Africa and Asia Minor? GRANTING states the right to build HSR along existing Interstate ROW is a good beginning. GRANTING construction funds to State HSR authorities is another No, that's balkanization. And the states don't need that right granted to them anyhow; they ain't building them. Waiting for Fedburocrats to build something is preposterous They had no problem building interstates and airports. It wasn't the states. |
