For me, it is just in the 1970's and early 1980's when I did some serious subway roaming about, I naturally understood that the J, KK, M and LL trains were 8 cars in length. Plenty of times, I went well out of my way to travel these and other lines. I do remember that many routes had 8 car trains, and some routes had 9 like the #3, and 10 car trains. And this was before and during the time of the 4 and 5-car mid-day and night time budget cut reductions in train sizes.Mike |
