That would be very interesting if someone had the audacity to try something like that in these cities. However, those are completely different situations.MARTA just went to the line color system within the past year if I'm not mistaken. The systems that you mentioned had the majority of their lines designated with those colors for at least 2 decades. If someone suddenly had a problem with WMATA's Yellow Line right now and the fact it goes through Chinatown, they'd be rightfully laughed out of the room! The costs and confusion of "renaming" the lines would be astronomical! Since MARTA's existing line was just changed to Yellow, it shouldn't be too confusing. Plus, the fact that the group would accept the line as "Gold" makes things a lot easier, as they could theoretically keep the same maps posted in stations and trains and just slap a Gold decal over the word Yellow. If they demanded something completely different, like Purple, then it would be a bigger deal. |
