Besides M8 cars the current MNR Genesis locos could (theoretically) have their third rail shoes outiftted for LIRR third rail and run as diesels east (north) of Harold. Those trains would no doubt need a loco at both ends because of the East River Tunnel grades - much like the LIRR DM30 trains. |
