Those do go up, however:We were specifically looking at raising the peak-hour fares, with what to me would be the best solution: Make the fare for those who don't use an unlimited ride MetroCard $3.50 during peak hours (but with an extra OOS transfer) while the fare remains as it is during off-peak hours on weekdays and Saturdays (pehaps cutting the fare to $2.00 on Saturdays), while on Sundays the fare is lowered to $1.50 or $1.75. That to me is a good compromise. |
