The R-26s through 30s had H2CA couplers which had an additional tappet to allow main reservoir pressure to go between cars in a pair since only one car had a compressor. Eventually all the IRT R-26s through 33s received the WABCO upgrade from SMEE to RT-2. The BMT/IND GOH R-30s retained their SMEE braking to the end. |
