Bill Thompson could have won the election, despite Bloomberg's obscene campaign spending. You are correct that the election was much closer than the GOP ever admits (Bloomy is an independent, but ran on the GOP line). Just ONE campaign appearance by Obama on Thompson's behalf, might have changed NYC history.I'm willing to bet that many who voted for "shoo-in" Bloomberg regret that choice these days... |
