"The bigger problem with the elimination of the fare between stations was an increase in crime and vandalism on the trains, as there were no longer conductors or trainmen walking through the cars every other stop."But how much of an increase? After all, the SIR is now operated just like any other subway train. If conductors are needed to prevent crime on SIR trains, why not on all subway routes? |
