What I'd like to see in a quasi-realistic sense...-> A new deep bored trunk line from Lakeville Road near Long Island Jewish Medical Center through Glen Oaks to Oakland Gardens to Fresh Meadows Shopping Centre, then aiming for Queens College. From Queens College, the line would travel westward on a path crossing near the Queens Railway at 71st Ave, and aiming for Middle Village and Maspeth, and a swing northward under the cemeteries and Sunnyside to connect with the 63rd Street Line. -> A spur off the Canarsie Line between Montrose Avenue and Morgan Avenue stations under Bushwick, Stuyvesant, and Utica Avenues ending at an undetermined point based on demographics, NIMBY, and geotechnical concerns. -> A spur off the Flushing Line from Willets Point Boulevard station along the Whitestone Expressway ROW to 20th Avenue. Potentially, if bored, one could build a portal and extend the line via a deep bore to 14th Avenue and 150th Street. -> Extend the Pelham Line from Pelham Bay Park over the New England Thruway ROW to a station located at Bartow Avenue and Baychester Blvd. -> Extend the New Lots Line from New Lots Avenue to Gateway Centre. |
