The R-32s started on the Brighton Express (Q) when they were first delivered in 1964 and eventually made their way to the Sea Beach (N) and West End (T, TT). Just before the Chrystie St merger in 1967 they started showing up on the D and after the Chrystie merger they were on the AA/B, D and N. By 1969 the car equipment problem was such that they showed up on just about ant BMT/IND line often in mixed trains with other equipment. Toward the end of the 1970s and the early 1980s, they started showing up on the RR. Through the 1980s, they were pretty much the backbone of the AA/B, D, N and RR. In the mid 1980s, the TA began to aggressively do away with the double letter train designations and the AA briefly became the K which had been used for the Bway Bkln/6 Av lcls before that.
