I think the Waterbury Line would be a perfect fit for a Light-rail non-electric like the river line. Since CDOT owns the tracks up to at least Torington, I bet they would get decent ridership if they extended it past Waterbury. They could run every hour weekdays and every 3 hours on weekends. That would free-up 2 consists for the other non-electric parts of MNRR. I don't think there is much frieght on it and the only other usage is the tourist line from Waterbury to Thomaston. |
