I cannot deal with the interior stainless steel walls destroyed by scratchitti and carvings. They even destroy the fiberglass roll signs. These cars look like tin cans on wheels. Now I have posted about this for the past month and i do nto sense the same outrage from fellow railfans. LEts draw a comparison. Suppose someone was into antique cars would they like to see the interior or exterior of the car vandalized with scratches, markers or spray paint? Of course not. Well we are supposed to be rail fans. Yet we do not seem as outrage over the interior destruction of virtually every R-62 & R-68. To me as a rail fan it is a VERY BIG deal. I try to avoid these lines on purpose. Now if you show me an R-62 or R-68 in brand new condition, which would only be possible if we had a time clock, I would agree. I remember the first time I rode an R-62 and an R-68 I did not want to get off the train. They were awesome. |
