Yes, that would be the Waterbury Branch and just out of view to the north is CP 500, where CTC/CSS ends (Centralized Traffic Control/Cab Signal System) and MBS (Manual Block System) starts. And the derail you refer to is called a split point derail, similar to a track switch when activated, except only one rail is affected which if a train passes it, the train goes on the ground, and on MNR, they are found at CPs that have drawbridges mainly. |
