Part III, posted by Dutchrailnut on Wed Nov 18 05:54:48 2009. no no such rule exist on either LIRR or MNCR. running with markers on on head end is actually a mistake but also a rules violation.Northeastern T/O was right, I don't know if it's a rule or not, but on the LIRR running with markers and headlights on indicates a shorter consist and to walk up. Years ago IIRC, lit markers on the head end of a Peak train meant either Flatbush Ave. or Penn Station. Bill Newkirk |
