Posted by Train Man Paul : Metro-North's Best Conductor FOR ALL 3 LINES!!! on Tue Nov 17 23:42:32 2009 Having arrived safely in New Haven - Union Station, time for me and my co workers to have a quick coffee before settin' sail on the 9:50 to NY Penn and Secaucus. But of course, my snappin' doesn't stop there!! We continue the snappin' of the sights!!East end of the station..... Which would you prefer to run??? :-D (I know my buddy Fishbowl would choose the ALP anytime!! :-D) ![]() A Gennie idles away over on Track 12..... ![]() Wait wait wait!! I can not leave here without a little look inside ALP-46 #4625!!! Come wit' me, folks!! ("Someone" replied in my other post in response to Chris's comment about the views one can see that things can be seen from a railfan window and nothing shown here hasn't been seen already!! Well, how many railfan windows offer THIS view, or how many here have seen this view???)...... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OK, don't get too comfy here, or you are gonna miss out on so much more!! Out we go and off to the west end!! ALP-46 #4625 outside side view..... ![]() Notice in our consist we seem to have a buried MLV Cab, #7004..... ![]() All opened up and ready to take the Jets fans on off to NJ!!..... ![]() ![]() The digital signs on the inside broadcast some very good messages!! (If only Metro-North would consider this message display for the M-7As and the M-8s!!)..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And especially someone at MNR should consider posting signage like these on and about trains and stations!!!...... ![]() After some coffee and BS time with the crew (the same engineer friend of mine was all so happy during my photo shoot on 09/20 is our illustrious engineer on this day!!).....much chit chattin' before we trek towards Penn.....it's now time to head back to the platform, where much action and equipment abounds in the area!! Road foreman and trainmaster at the west end, #7046, which looks and smells miiiiiiiiiiighty new!! Thinkin' this one came on the NJT roster quite recently!!..... ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a sampling of all kinds of equipment as only New Haven can provide, from both Amtrak and Metro-North..... Bombs and "Tomato Cans"...... ![]() ![]() Amtrak's collections, consisting of P40-Bs, P42s, GP38H-3s and even a good ol' end-cab, MP15DC 534, plus a Toaster and some Hippos!!..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And a "Tomato Can" and a Shuttlewagon at the Wheel Mill..... ![]() And as lateness sets in and lil ol' me is gettin' kinda tired, it si time for me to end this part riiiiiiiiiiiiight here, and time for me to retire!! (Not literally!!! Got 24 1/2 more years before than happens!! :-D) Hope you all have enjoyed thus far again!! There is still more to come......juuuuuuuuuust gonna have to wait until tomorrow!! Thank you for coming along...... and hey, good night to all here!! Tune in again tomorrow, for we will continue this little outing of ours!! :-) |
