Some possible side effects of Federal oversight of local transit systems might be bringing the maximum hours operating employees are permitted to work in line with those on commuter railroads. In NY State, it might also remove the NYCT employees from Taylor law penalties since the Feds have ruled that N-N and LIRR employees are not subject to the Taylor Law but rather the Federal Railway Labor Act. |
